Stop Cancer at Work Campaign

Requirement: Website

The challenge

Stop Cancer at Work is a campaign that was launched by The European Trade Union Confederation (ETUC), European Public Services Union (EPSU) and European Biosafety Network (EBN) – with other partners including the European Federation of Nurses Associations (EFN) and The Standing Committee of European Doctors (CPME).

Cancer is now the leading cause of work-related deaths in the EU with over 100,000 deaths each year. Stop Cancer at Work aims to eradicate occupational exposure to deadly substances and work-related deaths caused by cancer.

The campaign focused on persuading the European Commissioner to accept legislation in the 2020 revision of the Carcinogens and Mutagens Directive (CMD) to include carcinogenic cytotoxic drugs which cause cancer. This was through creating an online petition to be presented to the EU Commissioner, Parliament and Council.

The solution

A campaign site was needed to drive awareness as well as to gain support and vital signatures.

We designed a site with a grid that worked across five different languages on desktop and as a responsive solution.

We opted for a single-page scrollable WordPress solution with simple navigation structure for ease of use and re-populating in English, French, German, Italian and Spanish. The custom-build solution allowed each version to be updated and edited via just one admin area for easy client management.
